Autumn has to be one of my favourite seasons of the year to get out and photograph! The days are shorter (so more sleep for me), temperatures are cooling off, bugs have disappeared for the most part, and nature is putting on a spectacular show. This can also be one of the most unpredictable seasons of the year as you are never quite sure how long it is going to last. Here on the prairies, if you are blessed with some warmer autumn temperatures it usually brings with it wind, and that wind can strip all the beauty off the trees fairly quickly.
The season started pretty early for us this year - about seven to ten days early with cold temperatures that kickstarted the change in colour. Fortunately the leaves held on (even through some crazy windy days) and autumn stuck around for quite some time - well into the end of October which isn't normal at all! This allowed for an unexpected extension of fall shooting and I tried to take advantage of it as much as possible.
Here are some of my favourites from the last two months - hope you enjoy.
